Please note that we cannot guarantee the pedigree of any of
our dogs. Freedom GSR does not feel that the dog must be purebred to be pure of heart. We pride ourselves on rescuing
dogs based on their temperaments, not solely on their looks.
All of our dogs over six months old will be fully vetted prior to adoption. Fully vetted means that the dogs will be microchipped, altered, up to date on rabies, dhlpp and bordetella vaccinations (all administered by a veterinarian’s office or shelter staff), and clear of intestinal parasites, tickborne illnesses, and heartworms. Puppies under six months old will be adopted out with all age appropriate vaccinations, clear of intestinal parasites, and will be required to be altered on or before his or her seven month birthday. Once proof of alteration has been received by the rescue treasurer, a $75 refund will be issued to the adopter. All of our dogs are on heartworm and flea/tick prevention while in rescue care. All heartworm preventatives are purchased from a licensed veterinarian. All medical records will be turned over to the adopter when the dog goes on trial. To maintain transparency, we recommend that the adopter take their newly adopted dog to their personal veterinarian during the trial period.
